Halal
A halal kitchen in Toronto, not a halal section
Everything we cook at 195 Harbord Street is halal — the pizzas, the shawarma wraps, the kathi rolls, the rice bowls, the burgers, the wings and the poutine. There is no separate list to hunt through, because there is nothing on the menu that is not.
Where the meat comes from
From a certified halal supplier — the same one for everything we serve, not a special order for some dishes.
How it is kept apart
Halal is cooked away from everything else. Vegan and non-vegan are fried in separate oil, and vegetarian dishes never go on a grill that has had meat on it.
Eating together
This is the part worth the walk from the University of Toronto: a mixed group orders from one menu. The person who eats halal, the vegetarian, the one avoiding gluten and the one who just wants a burger are not choosing between two restaurants — for lunch, for an office order or for catering.
